In 2010, I sent a direct message to Craig Engler, a senior executive at the SyFy Channel, over Twitter. The next thing I knew, I was feeding the network’s beast of a blog, SciFiWire.com. The blog has since been redubbed Blastr.com, with comic-book legend and ukulele strummer Scott Edelman at the helm. He doesn’t take everything I pitch, but he humors me with the occasional political/sci-fi crossovers.
