This morning, just to see, I held down the power button on the phone, and lo and behold, no need to roll back stones, it came to life. Sure, the screens a bit stained but that doesn’t really matter. It works perfectly.
On a completely unrelated topic – I’ve been compiling a list of Visual Anth/Documentary/soundscape/general Granada Centre links. I’m fair satisfied with how its coming along. Not to be too arrogant, but I think it might be the best resource of its kind. At least, I haven’t found anything better and I have indeed been googling long and hard. If you’re interested:
I’m adding to it regularly, so keep checking back.
One last thing… I ran into Steve Balshaw today at the bus stop. I first met Steve back when I was putting in volunteer hours at theKino Film Festival (link below) , currently happening across Manchester. He’s no longer with them, though he’s on the Jury Panel. Anyhow, he’s been working with Bruno Coppola, whose also on the Kino jury. Bruno, like most Coppolas, is in film as well. Hell, they’re the film equivalent of Jazz’s Marsalis family. Now, to complicate this even further, I’d met Bruno a year or more ago at one of Steve’s Eyeball Haemorrage film nights at Night & Day, and he’d seemed really keen to talk to me in depth at some future point. So, yeah, Steve said he’ll arrange it this week. Movers, shakers, shameless name-dropping. What can I say?
Oh yeah. That’s my pal Suzanne’s in the logo. Ain’t she cute?

Howdy. Dave Maass here.
